Two honorary student organizations housed in the School of Business have received special recognition for significant achievements within their national chapters.

The award-winning musical "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day," based on the popular children's book by Judith Viorst, is the final show of the 61st season of Emporia State University Summer Theatre.

"The Nerd," a hilarious and popular comedy by Larry Shue is the third show for Emporia State Summer Theatre.

This fall, Carthage welcomes 824 new students to the campus community. The total includes 714 incoming freshmen and 110 transfer students. They come from 23 states -- as far away as Alaska, Arizona, California, North Carolina, and Oregon -- and five foreign countries: China, Greece, Ireland, Japan, and Kenya.

William Woods University equestrian students traveled to Afton, Virginia, during the fall semester at the invitation of best-selling author Rita Mae Brown. Brown wrote "Cat of the Century," which is set on the WWU campus.

Ohio Wesleyan University held its 170th commencement ceremony May 11. The Ohio Wesleyan Class of 2014 included 390 spring, summer, and fall graduates, with 65 cum laude, 33 magna cum laude, and 20 summa cum laude honorees. Four students - Karli Amstadt, Alyssa Carothers, Jessica Martin, and Carolyn Thompson - graduated with perfect 4.0 grade point averages. Congratulations to OWU's newest alumni!
